Use These Free Tools to Generate More Sales With Email Marketing
We can all agree that we’re in business for two main reasons:
- Make profits.
- Solve our customers’ problems and serve them better than anyone else.
I’m sure you will also agree that, as small business owners, our resources are limited. We can’t spend our limited time on tasks that don’t have a clear ROI, like setting up profiles on every social media that gets some hype.
But what if I told you that there is one channel that outperforms all the others by a large margin, and that huge companies like Urban Outfitters, Levi’s, The Home Depot and eBay use regularly to boost their sales?
This channel my friends is Email Marketing.
The Money Is In The (Email) List
If you are planning to sell something online, the list will be your primary money maker. Perhaps you’ve heard the phrase: “The money is in the list”. It’s true.
Why you ask?
Email simply gives you the most direct contact with the people who are interested in what you have to offer. It allows you to drive those prospects and customers back to your store and generate more sales, in the most cost-effective way.
Yup, it’s MUCH more efficient than any social media channel, and I will give you some examples now to establish this point:
Effectiveness vs Hype
“Email Campaigns Deliver 4,300% ROI to Rate as Best Channel for ROI” – Direct Marketing Association
“Email remains the best digital channel for ROI” – Econsultancy
Derek Halpern (of Social Triggers) ran an experiment. He sent the same link to about 20,000 of his email subscribers and then to his 20,000 Twitter followers.
Email drove 4,200 unique visitors to his offer
Twitter drove 300 unique visitors to his offer
These unique visitors are REAL PEOPLE!
Keep in mind, the more people you drive to your offer, the more sales can make, if your offer is relevant to these people, of course.
More Clicks = Most Targeted Visitors = More Sales
When you stop and think about it for a second, the results of these experiment make perfect sense.
Think of it this way…
- How many Emails do you get every day? I get around 30 emails.
- How many social media updates do you get every day? I get around 1000.
- Now, what’s more likely to be seen and noticed? 1 in 30 or 1 in 1000?
The answer is obvious. Email just moves the conversation about your business to a more personal environment, the inbox.
But isn’t it Super Hard to Build an Email List?
Great news again! Building an email list is far more easier and cheaper than building a social media following. When we had set up our Ecwid store Kartis.co.il, we had one goal in mind: Building a large email list and using it to generate sales. This was our #1 priority.
We’re constantly looking for new ways to build our list without coming across as annoying jerks.
Here are the tools we used to collect over 1,600 email in our first month of running our store, which helped us generate $1,240.25 in additional sales in just a few weeks:
- MailChimp – Amazing Email Marketing Service is free for your first 2000 users.
- MailChimp Integration for Ecwid – Free app that automatically imports the email addresses of new Ecwid customers into your MailChimp list.
- The Perfect Welcome Email Tactic– Copy this welcome email from us and start seeing results!
- SumoMe – Free set of tools that allow you to collect emails on your website.
When’s the best time to get started?
Right now. Don’t wait for things to look perfect. Start building your email list today.
Remember, your email list is a real asset – it is yours. You have 100% control over it, and if you sell your business in the future, a large, targeted email list will surely bump the selling price!
Have you started building an email list yet? If not, go ahead and use the free tools I told you about in this post.
